Minister for Communications and Digital Technologies, Solly Malatsi, visited Nokia’s South Africa Headquarters in Waterfall City, Midrand, for a strategic meeting to advance South Africa’s digital transformation agenda.
The Nokia team, led by Managing Director Toni Pellegrino, alongside Mrs. Pat Wiehahn , Head of Strategic Relationships and Transformation, CTO Jan Liebenberg, and Stakeholder Maswazi Kunene, facilitated insightful discussions on Nokia’s role in supporting South Africa’s digital goals.
Key areas of potential collaboration were explored, including digital skills development and training initiatives through the Forge Academy, a premier digital skills training institution with a state-of-the-art 5G lab.
This partnership aims to upskill ICT SMMEs and contribute to developing a knowledgeable, digitally skilled workforce—critical to South Africa’s future competitiveness.
